Happy first day of spring! We had a solar eclipse here this morning. It was all very hyped up, the first big solar eclipse in 16 years apparently. The news covered it, everyone left their offices and went outside to watch, and absolutely nothing happened. It was too cloudy to see anything! Twitter is overcome with sarcastic comments about the amazing view attached to a blank grey picture. But about 20 minutes later the sun came out and it's been gorgeous and spring-like for the rest of the day.
I had my last classes yesterday and celebrated with my program-mates last night. I have a lot to do tomorrow and over the break, so I decided to give myself the day off. I walked down to Borough Market and bought fresh made bread and fresh strawberries and oranges for 2 pounds! Then stood an outrageously long time in line for a frankfurter, authentic German street food-style. I miss German street food so much! I ate with friends on their lunch breaks on the steps of Southwark Cathedral as the sun beat on our backs! The best possible way to relax after 2 very stressful and heavy weeks!
