It's official. The family is moving. It's been in the works for a while, and it's still a secret to almost everyone, but move out day is in August, so it's getting closer. We live in a gorgeous big house with a couple other families in the middle of all this farmland. My host family rents, and the landlord has recently built an addition onto our house, making it a duplex. So the landlord has moved into the house beside us, They used to be incredibly friendly, but about a month after moving in they stopped greeting us (well, they still greet me, but not anyone else in the family nor the neighbours) and now they are outright rude when addressed. For example, my hostparents haven't told the girls or the neighbours yet because they will take it so hard, and the landlord seems to have gone out of her way to let the news slip. It's incredibly weird. It makes an easy excuse though, to say that they are leaving because the landlord is so hard to live with, when in fact they are thinking of moving quite far away. Like the other side of the world. Anyway....
Tomorrow the photographer is coming to take house photos. And tonight Ev and Rose decided to draw with chalk. I made the mistake of pointing out that Rose's heart looked like a particular piece of anatomy, which probably got them started on a particular train of thought, and then I went inside. I came back out to find KAKAWURST in massive pink and white letters written right before our front door.
Now in German they like to put nouns together to make bigger, more specific nouns. If you break this word up you get Kaka and Wurst. The first is an international word and the second has to do with pretty well known German cuisine. In case the meaning wasn't clear enough to any passerby, Ev also drew some very nice graphics.
It's hysterical. It's definitely the funniest things she's ever done when I was around. I'm actually really proud of it and I hope it lasts til Monday when Tori arrives so I can show off their masterpiece.
